This breed stands between 17 and 21 inches tall and weighs between 35 to 50 pounds. This breed stands between 19 to 27 inches tall and weighs between 45 and 65 pounds.

The average lifespan of this breed is between 10 to 14 years. This loyal breed is also a hardy breed that has been well-screened for genetic health concerns since it was originally bred. There are only three color varieties of this breed that are accepted, those are black and white, tan and white and tricolored. This inquisitive breed is an instinctive hunter like its larger counterpart and is “native” to Australia. Unfortunately this breed is prone to deafness from merle coloration. The average lifespan of this breed is unknown but thought to be around 10 to 12 years.
